Safe, Family Fun with Scary Zombies, Monsters and Vampires at Salinas Sports Complex.

Salinas, CA (September 27, 2011) ⎯ Sun Street Centers and Salinas Girls Fastpitch, Inc. are co-producing a Haunted House entertainment experience for families, teens and children 8-years-old and above, October 23rd – 30th at the Salinas Sports Complex.

The 15,000 square foot Storm House indoor facility will be transformed into a haunted castle with Dracula’s Den, Zombie-Land, a Ghoulish Graveyard, and a Monster Maze. Snacks, beverages, and other concessions will be for sale. Salinas will be scared-silly at this family-friendly and safe Halloween community event.

Tickets go on sale Saturday October 1; purchase tickets on our website at www.sunstreetcenters.org or call Sheryl Merrill at 831-753-5144 ext 3. Tickets will be sold at $10 each for visitors aged 12 and older and at $5 for visitors under 12.

Sun Street Centers Celebrates “Recovery Happens” Month

Salinas, CA (September 2011) ⎯ Sun Street Centers begins a month long celebration of Recovery from Alcohol and Drug Addiction on the State Capital September 1, 2011, along with thousands of others from across California. Every September is Recovery Happens Month, a National declaration that people do recover from addiction and lead productive lives. Thousands of people will be on the steps of the capital cheering for recovery, including Governor Brown, who conducts a press conference. Continue reading


Gonzales Alcohol Outlet Sells Alcohol to Minor

South Monterey County, CA (August 19, 2011) – Sun Street Centers Safe Teens Empowerment Project (STEPS) participated in a decoy operation with the State of California Alcoholic Beverage Control in South County this past Saturday .

The clerk that sold to a minor may face a minimum fine of $250, and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for a first violation. In addition, ABC will take administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business where alcohol was sold to a minor. That may include a fine, a suspension of the liquor license, or the permanent revocation of the license. Continue reading
